We so frequently blow through backbends in our salutations, standing series, or at the end of class. We rarely linger and learn from them the way we do other shapes. Why? What’s the fear about? There does not need to be pain or anxiety. There can be room for patience and space for curiosity. There can be breath! There can be groundedness even when your relationship to gravity changes and you see the world upside down.
These workshops inform the rest of your practice. Come begin to cultivate the strength and stability needed to actually stay in a backbend and let it show you something about yourself. All levels welcome, these are not monsters, I promise, just bring a human body and a willing spirit.
